Our business partner, Unity has an immediate opening for a Systems Administrator.  What sets you apart is your natural ability to manage conflicting priorities while maintaining an intrinsic understanding of the overall business needs to meet deadlines.  We are looking for a true Unity ninja that can navigate through a variety of different challenges and tasks to provide timely solutions.  You’ve thrived within a mixed infrastructure environment in your past roles and welcome the challenge and opportunity to develop your skills. You are no stranger to communicating and collaborating with different departments and key stakeholders to balance multiple requests and priorities – essentially, you’re kind of a big deal. 

Things you’ll work on
Your primary role will be to manage, optimize, and expand Unity’s existing infrastructure. The infrastructure consists of a mixture of Linux, Mac and Windows servers and workstations. You will test upgrades and modifications to the server, network, and application infrastructure. You will also be part of monitoring the infrastructure. You will work closely with all departments and help optimize their day-to-day work. Among many, your responsibilities will be:

·         Troubleshooting network problems, hardware failures and application errors

·         Creating and setting up new servers to help the expanding infrastructure

·         Maintain and optimize Unity’s virtual environment based on KVM

·         Monitor, secure and optimize Unity’s online/hosting area

·         Expand and create new monitoring solutions for existing and future services/servers

·         Addressing performance problems or other issues affecting the efficiency of the infrastructure.

The geeky stuff
At Unity they work with the funniest, newest and coolest – i.e. Ceph, 10Gbit network, OpenNebula, Multi-location hosting, Geo-IP solutions and NSPOF solutions.

Of course you have experience working as a systems administrator, specifically administering Linux servers (Debian) and experience with operating system and network debugging. You are excellent at profiling and optimizing operating systems and networks. Knowledge of scripting (Perl/Python/Bash) is a bonus.
