This role will be based in Düsseldorf.
Our department "Gas Market Risk" is searching for a
Gas or Oil Risk Analyst (m/f)
Responsibilities
Run the daily, weekly and monthly risk processes including VaR as part of a large gas risk team
Take responsibility for controlling a specific part of the portfolio and provide adequate challenge to Front Office
Work together with other departments to implement new business streams and structured deals
Improve risk measurement methods or adapt existing methods to new business
Ad hoc analysis as directed by the manager
Development of risk models for gas across European portfolios and oil
Support within the Risk Team for IT testing and development
Presentations of views on the business from a risk perspective to management and governance committees
Qualifications
2 - 5 years experience in the energy wholesale sector or another commodities trading sector
Qualification in a science/engineering/economics subjects involving strong numerical skills
Strong Excel skills are essential, Database, VBA and programming skills would be desirable
Ability to handle large amounts of data from various sources efficiently and accurately
Strong at forming relationships across the business and working effectively with different teams
Strong analytical thinker and problem solving capability
Highly committed individual, keen to learn and grow into new areas of expertise
